How I Met How I Met Your Mother..

How I Met Your Mother is a love story told in reverse. We know that Ted will find 'her' and they will marry and have a son and daughter. We know that Lily and Marshall will have at least one child, we know Robin will be a childless success and that she is not The Mother, we learn Barney is actually the marrying kind. So why watch?

You should watch because it's the funniest, sweetest, silliest, and best casted show since "Friends".

I found HIMYM over the summer a couple of years ago on Netflix and my family, (yes, hubby, kids and dog), all fell in love with it and we watched all 6 seasons over that summer. We eagerly wait for the new seasons and still love it.

The year is 2030. Ted Mosby is relaying the story of how he met his wife to his daughter and son. The story starts in the year 2005, when then twenty-seven year old architect Ted was spurred on to want to get married after his best friends from his college days at Wesleyan, lawyer Marshall Eriksen, who was his roommate at the time and kindergarten teacher Lily Aldrin, got engaged after nine years of dating each other. Ted's new quest in life was much to the dismay of his womanizing friend, Barney Stinson. But soon after Marshall and Lily's engagement, Ted believed that his life mate was going to be news reporter and aspiring news anchor Robin Scherbatsky, who, despite having had a romantic relationship with her after this time, ended up being who the kids know as their "Aunt" Robin. As Ted relays the story to his kids, the constants are that their Uncle Marshall, Aunt Lily, Uncle Barney and Aunt Robin are always in the picture and thus have something to do with how he got together with their mother. HIMYM is currently in it's 8th and final season.

My latest obsession....

Over this summer, my husband bought the first 4 seasons of Sons Of Anarchy. My first thought? *YAWN*
My second thought? "I don't wanna sit and watch some dumb show about dumb bikers!"  But, I made him sit through all of the seasons of True Blood, so I owed the man.

I was hooked immediately. I was so hooked that I insisted that we watch the show basically non-stop until we got caught up. I ordered season 5 from Amazon and we finished it just in time to begin season 6.

Are you not familiar with SOA? Let me give you a rundown.....

From Kurt Sutter, writer/producer of The ShieldSons of Anarchy, is a dark drama set in Charming, a sheltered community watched over by a renegade motorcycle club intent on protecting the town from the newcomers that threaten it. Jackson "Jax" Teller is one member of the brotherhood, who finds his own loyalty to the group tested when he experiences its increasing lawlessness and notoriety, while at the same time adjusting to life as a father. But confusing matters are Jax's mother and stepfather, two ruthless individuals who happen to be the masterminds behind the club. Sons of Anarchy is broadcast on FX, and produced by FX Productions, Art Linson Productions and Fox 21.

.....and that's just a few of the cast! Whew!

Here's a bit more about the show, thanks to Wikipedia and FX:

The Sons of Anarchy (SOA) is an outlaw motorcycle club with many charters in the United States and overseas. The show focuses on the original and founding chapter, Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club, Redwood Original referred to by the acronym SAMCRO or Sam Crow. This nickname is also reflected in the original title of the show, Forever Sam Crow. The Redwood chapter is headquartered in (the fictional town) Charming, California, in a clubhouse adjacent to the Teller-Morrow auto mechanic shop. Led by President Clay Morrow, and later Jax Teller, the club protects and controls Charming through close community relationships, bribery, and violent intimidation. In early seasons they are particularly vehement about keeping "hard" drugs, and drug dealers, out of Charming.

Club members wear vests known as kuttes (jackets with the sleeves cut off). The SOA patch on the back is a Grim Reaper holding a crystal ball with the anarchy "A," and wielding the Reaper's traditional scythe, the handle of which has been replaced by the M16 rifle that the club's founders wielded in Vietnam. Only full members can wear the "patch." Other, smaller patches on the vest have specific meanings, such as "Men of Mayhem," which is worn by club members who have spilled blood on the club's behalf, and "First 9," worn by all the original nine SOA members.

Now, I have to tell you, I've gone totally "outerlimits" with my love for this damn show. I am watching creator, Kurt Sutter's Youtube channel, WTFSutter, for updates and tidbits, I'm looking up cast members online, I'm buying SOA gear, the works. It's bad, bad, I tell you.

Just check out the first few episodes on Netflix and see.....get back to me when your done....we'll talk.

Sons Of Anarchy airs on FX Tuesdays at 9pm Central
